CEPAC has been fighting for 30 years to protect children from the marginalized outskirts of Barueri (Sao Paulo, Brazil) aiming to take them out of the cycles of poverty, violence and family abandonment. We develop projects of professional training, psychological assistance and sociocultural inclusion, making it possible to strengthen the families of 260 beneficiaries. Therefore, through the integral protection and care, we increase their chances of building a worthy, happy and new-faced future.
Currently, there are around 30,000 children living in foster homes in Brazil. Since the pandemic, our spaces overcrowded 50% over their capacity. Children and teenagers who grow up in these outskirts face all types of violence, marginalization and abandonment. They get involved with drugs and crime, without access to education, culture, health and family bond, having little development of their socio-emotional skills. Their chances of building a well-being future are seriously threatened.
We offer fully protection, institutional foster and care for children and teenagers to get them out of the condition of social vulnerability in which they are in. We develop projects and activities that provide access to rights such as education, culture, leisure, training and professional insertion, besides to psychological and social assistance for all beneficiaries and their families. Our work makes it possible for these families to know their rights and break with the cycle of vulnerability.
We guarantee compliance with the Child and Adolescent Statute and fully protect our beneficiaries, encouraging the strengthening of family ties, development of autonomy, skills and aptitudes. We contribute to the reduction of rates of violation of rights, child labor, school dropout, drug use, early pregnancy and involvement in crime.
