We are delighted to see that our first reading clubs have been an absolute hit with the pre-primary and primary school children attending Wemmershoek Primary School.
Thanks to your generous support our young Literacy Tutors all participated in two great training workshops - the first with local NGO Nal'iBali to learn how to delvier exciting extramural community reading clubs to further encourage a love of reading, the second with educationalist Renee Lighton who gave our tutors simple, practical tips and ideas to engage children and demonstrated that literacy skills can be developed in all daily activities and with simple tools in every household.
Both workshops were a huge success and excited tutors started their first after school reading club sessions in May with over 60 children in attendance! They are looking forward to the holiday camps that are being planned for the winter July school holidays when most children from poor township communities have little to do and no safe, recreational and educational community centres to attend.

Just £100 will support a 5 day holiday club in July so if you want to sponsor a young Literacy Tutor and promote a love of reading, please donate today.
Thank you again so much for your support and watch this space for more about July's holiday reading clubs.
