“Making do” in borrowed facilities has truly been holding us back. As you know, we have a building—a 2,200 square foot facility in downtown Christiansted—it has been sitting empty, because it needed extensive renovations in order to be habitable.
In May, we were given an incredible opportunity to start rehabbing this building. Thanks to many generous donors and a great deal of volunteer labor, our building rehab project has already come a very long way. We’ve replaced the roof, rebuilt the second floor, framed out all of the walls, built the interior and exterior stairs, and much more.
Once completed, this building will be more than “just” a home for Project Promise. It will also serve as a community center with classrooms, a computer lab, a full kitchen, a laundry center, a multipurpose room, office space and more.
