Each month, the Project G team run 3 workshops in different rural schools, educating between 500 and 600 students each month. Our sewing team of 5 ladies sew 500 Kits and the number of hours our team spend on training, preparing everything and running the workshops are countless! Below is a report from the Project G team from September:

The report details the preparation, activities, and outcomes of a workshop held at Sen Sok High School in September. Here is a summarized version:

Preparation:

  • The workshop was organized 83 kilometers from Siem Reap city.
  • The team contacted the school director one week prior to the workshop, explaining its purpose and objectives.
  • The school director was cooperative, having collaborated on a previous project with the team.
  • The team prepared materials, including flip charts and evaluation papers, and ensured kits were ready.

During the Workshop:

  • The workshop took place on September 14, 2023, with 10 main educators (6 female and 4 male) and additional team members.
  • There were 143 female and 104 male students in attendance.
  • 143 kits were distributed to female students, and 5 kits were given to female teachers.
  • Lessons covered various topics related to health, menstruation, reproduction, sexuality, and human trafficking.
  • Teaching activities involved introductions, evaluations, and practical demonstrations.
  • Students were engaged and enthusiastic about learning, especially regarding menstruation.
  • Kits were distributed, and students were advised on their use, leading to positive reactions.

After the Workshop:

  • The second workshop at Sen Sok High School was successful.
  • The cooperation of teachers and school staff was praised.
  • Materials and supplies were prepared for future workshops.
  • The team expressed gratitude to all participants, including the school director, teachers, educators, and students.

In conclusion, the workshop at Sen Sok High School was a successful event, with engaged students, supportive educators, and positive outcomes in terms of education on health and hygiene. The team expressed appreciation for the collaboration and efforts of all involved.
