  1. Before Workshop

Preparation

This is the second workshop in May at Kok Dong Secondary School in Siem Reap province. This school so far from Siem Reap city, we just spent an hour and half for arrive to school. When we arrived at school, the school director and all teachers gave a warming welcome to us and we have a little greeting with teachers. Five days before the workshop, our team was called to inform him and told him what we wanted him to prepare before the workshop started. On the other hand, we have to print evaluation papers, prepare workshop materials, and inform the production team to prepare the kits for the workshop. One day before the workshop, we informed to all educators in the Project G Educators in telegram group about the information from the school that we went and to make sure they would be ready before our workshop starts, such as reviewing the lesson for teaching and also we informed who the Rotaract members wearing Rotaract T-Shirt to join with our workshop too. On the workshop day, we came early to the campus to bring all materials for workshop into the van and we ate breakfast together, Lun woth contributor prepares breakfast for our all educators. After we already eat breakfast, we left the campus to school at 7:15AM together.

 During  Workshop

Total Educators

  • 9 main educators (6 girls and 3 boy’s educators)
  • Molika joined as photographer
  • Lun and Phloeut joined as operation contribution
  • Kongkea is the leader of the second workshop
  • Sievyien joined as PG-HR

Total Students

We got 159 girls and provided 130 kits to female students (we lacked 20 kits, but we will bring it for them in the next month when we go to do follow up again), have 9 students received kits when they were studied through online and we got 79 boys participated in our workshop. They were all very friendly, involved, and ready for the class with us. In this workshop, we had 3 female classes and 2 male classes from the school director. In this school we have reached our target from school as we requested male and female to be involved as well.

Lessons - Project G Lessons and Human Trafficking and using flip chart for teaching, and showing simple kit.

Teaching Activities - While we were travelling on the van to the school, the leader of workshop confirmed information again to avoid confusion some information. We arrived the school at 8:20AM, and we had a greeting with the school director and met him asked about the classes that he prepared for us to teach and the place for preparing snack. On the day was their first day of school after had vacation a month, so have many students to join with us and specifically in school don’t use the plastics look so fresh. The school director divided the male and female students according to what we required him to do. The school director and other teachers were friendly and welcomed us for coming to share in their school. After finishing discussion with the school director, our team takes the banners of human trafficking and flags of our project to install in front of classes and then all educators brought the flip charts and materials for teach into the class that the school director divided.

When the educators entered the classes, they helped to organize the seating for students look tidy and look good performance during teaching, then we started our teaching activities based on our teaching plans. First of all, they introduced themselves, our founder, projects, and departments in CRST’s NGO to let students know more about our CRST. They also wrote the CRST and Project G page on the whiteboard for students to get more information about our NGO through Facebook page. Next, we started doing the pre-test evaluations of girl and boy classes. We spent twenty minutes to do on it for the classes that response on evaluation. Then we went through to teach the lesson. All students were pay attention with all educators and had some questions, they don’t know before asked to educator and they were clear about it after the educator explained to them. The girl educators showed kits and told them how to use it. Next, educator called a student walk up to the front to practice how to use kits and explain to all friends about to use it. Looking they knew about how to use kits and don’t have any questions the educators finished the part one; we have time to breaks for eating snacks. The operations contributor and have our educators available help to bring the snacks to the classes for students; we would not forget to tell them to clean their hands before eating snacks and we prepared snack for teachers the same.

During that time, it seemed a lot of students were have energy after eating snack, they had some questions for asked the educators, the break time was up until the second section started. They were brave and confident enough to ask questions related to our lesson, about their health and more information about human trafficking. Went into each class, and we saw that most of the students were involved and happy to learn from PG. They felt confident and comfortable, so that is what we want they are willing to learn and have asking questions, having discussions, and answering the quick questions from the point by point the educator asked. So the end of the teaching section we have to do Post-Test evaluation spent twenty minutes, after they finished do evaluation in girl classes the educators provided kits to all girl students, after we touch the lessons hope they enjoyed what we shared with them and will pass on this lesson to their family and friendsand taken photos with all students. After, we already taking photos with all students we also invited teachers to take photos with us.

After Workshop

Conclusion the whole workshop

Our second workshop everything was smoothly finished. However, The PG team and educators always collaborate with us to make it happen and succeed. Our team really appreciates all the educators who completed our mission very successfully this time. Our workshop could not be possible without all of them. Finally, after we were done taking, we prepared our materials such as flip charts, Project G lessons, and Human Trafficking, banners and we left the school for Siem Reap City. After that, we would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to the school director for welcoming us with an open mind and helping us prepare all the students for that day. They hope we will go back to this school. And they said to us, "Welcome if we have other projects to come to their school again. If there is a next workshop, they will be happy to help with his pleasure."

After all the missions were completed for the secondary workshop in May, we were thankful to the school director and other teachers for helping with our mission run smoothly. After we left the school we went to have lunch at Baray, we had enjoyed eating delicious food with the team. After eating, we continued travel to campus. We arrived on campus safe and sound together and the team help collected all materials on van to put in the PG room. On that opportunity we would like to thanks the team for making the workshop running well and also we sent messages to thanks the educators in PG Educators Group again that completed with our workshop smoothly and we really appreciate their kindly heart for helping us on running workshop as well.
