Progress for 100 Dominican kids with special needs

We are very grateful for your support to this project.  This project has not been totally funded but we have decided to desactivate it, because our project is put on hold at the end of 2024, except for our support to the parents.  They have indicated to want to start up a parent association and we want to assist them with this as much as we can.

Your donation has provided funding to our Foundation enabling us to work for 7 years with around 370 different families of children and young people living with disabilities. We provided weekly home visits that equip the parents in how to understand their child's condition and how to best stimulate their development, using an individual approach.  It allowed us to work with around 60 young people living with disabilities in providing twice a week also individulalized classes to help them develop their social and pre-vocational skills.  Some have moved on because they found employment, others because they moved away, two were excepted in the schoolsystem and sadly one passed away.

But our mission to these families and young people continues, but for the moment we will nto be receiving donations via the GlobalGiving platform.

We will let you know when we will be starting up our services again.
