We still have a way to go

By Julio Arze | Julio Arze

Dear Tukuy Pacha friends:

In the first instance we want to wish you a very good year, we hope that 2018 will be better for you and your loved ones. Besides, we want to thank you for the support you have provided us through your donation to help people with disabilities and their families to obtain their disability card.

As Tukuy Pacha we have already done this type of work and support for people with disabilities, so we have been able to confirm the great benefits they have once they present this document to public officials. They can receive free medical attention, reductions in transport rates, request technical aids to improve their quality of life, among other benefits. The work done not only benefits the person with disability, the family is also benefited because it is supported with information about the rights of their family member with disabilities, sensitization so that step by step the relatives help to improve their living conditions.

During 2017 we found that many people do not have this document and, with the passing of the days, new cases appear that are often totally invisible, even by their own relatives. The fact that people with disabilities in Bolivia have their card makes the statistics of this population group grow and come out of the darkness of indifference.
Unfortunately, to date we have not been able to collect sufficient amounts to begin this work in the municipalities of Arani, Cliza and Villa Ribero, municipalities that are in the Valle Alto department of Cochabamba.

For our part, we continue with the commitment so that 2018 we can support people with disabilities who do not have this important document. Finally, we will be attentive to comments and suggestions that you have so that we can improve our work

Thank you very much and receive a warm greeting from the entire Tukuy Pacha work team.

Sincerely.
Julio Arze.
