Wow, 2016 marks the 2nd academic year that NVSS has been in operation, thanks to your generous support. Your students at NVSS were busy wrapping up another successful year! They are officially packed up and back home, enjoying the holiday break with their families. When the new school year begins in February 2017, there will be 57 new students entering their first year of Secondary School – 30 will be attending from Nyaka Primary School and 27 from Kutamba Primary School. These new students will be joining the 104 current students at NVSS.
Before the school year ended, NVSS students visited the Desire Farm for some hands-on education. They spent time learning practical knowledge about poultry, poultry handling, and poultry production. The students also spent time harvesting fresh maize from the farm, which they indulged in afterwards. However, they still have to eat their meals in a classroom or outside because the Multipurpose & Dining Hall hasn’t been built yet.
Thank YOU for providing your students at NVSS with a state of the art school to learn and study in! Only the Physics & Chemistry Labs and the Multipurpose & Dining Hall are still needed before NVSS will be 100% complete. You can make a donation today to finish NVSS.
FUN FACT: Students at NVSS wear blue and black uniforms as their casual clothes when they aren’t in class. During the school day is when they wear the brown and cream uniforms.
Thank you again for a great year!
