On July 19, 2024, students from Nyaka schools will be actively participating in the Nyaka Walk Against Sexual and Gender Based Violence, showcasing their commitment to ending such atrocities in their communities. This walk is part of a broader initiative aimed at raising awareness and empowering young people to stand against gender-based violence. The students have been preparing for this event through various activities, including educational workshops, discussions, and the creation of advocacy materials. Their involvement highlights the importance of youth engagement in addressing social issues, and it also provides them with a platform to voice their concerns and advocate for change.
In the days leading up to the walk, students have been involved in organizing and planning the event, demonstrating leadership and collaboration skills. They have worked alongside teachers and community leaders to ensure the walk is well-coordinated and impactful. On the day of the event, students will lead the march, carrying banners and posters they created, chanting slogans, and sharing messages of hope and resilience. Their participation not only raises awareness but also inspires others in the community to join the fight against sexual and gender-based violence. The Nyaka schools' students are making a significant impact, showing that they are not just future leaders but active change-makers in the present.
