Hi Friends! As we are preparing to welcome new Project Soar Girls this week, our entire team is sending gratitude to you and all of our supporters. And we have great news...the BeGirl sustainable period supplies have arrived at our headquarters!
Thanks to your support we raised funds to cover these period supplies for the 2020/2021 Project Soar in a Box (PSB) cohort in Morocco + Uganda. Having access to period products helps keep girls in school and reduces the risk of child marriage and teen pregnancy. This is crucial right now when period supplies are even harder to access in marginalized communities during COVID-19.
These eco-friendly, shame free, hygienic period supplies will be distributed to the PSB facilitators to be given to the girls during their workshop, I Manage My Menstruation. Our Empowerment Facilitators always share that this is a special workshop that creates a safe space for the girls to share and ask questions openly. Girls are then empowered with the knowledge on how to use the products to manage their periods for 2-3 years with dignity. No girl should be ashamed of her menstruation or let it get in the way of her bright future!
