Dear Supporters,
The bathroom constructed by Grow Against Poverty at Our Lady of Mercy Girls Secondary School has already helped to improve attendance and academics. As word has travelled about the Prevent Period Poverty program, more schools have requested bathrooms. A report from our partner organization, Grow Against Poverty-Kenya follows:
"Our next school to receive the Prevent Period Poverty Program is St. Anne's Kisoko Secondary School. The school currently has 1500 students, spanning from Form 1 to Form 4 (high school grades 9-12) all of whom are boarders with only two sanitation facilities serving the entire population. The school has 67 teachers with the female teachers sharing one of the current facilities with the girls. Constructing the new Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) facility addresses a critical infrastructural gap and distributing reusable menstrual cups would further ensure the girls can manage their menstrual health with dignity and without disruption to their education." Nigel, Volunteer, Grow Against Poverty-Kenya
Thanks for supporting Prevent Period Poverty.
Regards,
John Roccanova
