Dear Supporters,
A majority of the students who attend Our Lady of Mercy Girls’ Secondary School do not have running water for toilets and sinks at home. Your generosity has helped fund the construction of a bathroom with 4 sinks, toilets and showers at their school. For these students, this is something to get excited about!
In Kenya, girls often stay home when they have their periods because they do not have menstrual products and school bathrooms are without water. Our Lady of Mercy now has a clean bathroom with water and private areas for students. Expectations are that attendance and academics will improve. We will keep you posted.
Grow Against Poverty has partnered with the nonprofit, CouldYou?, to provide menstrual health education and products. Students have already benefitted from this alliance.
A similar bathroom and program is planned for St. Anne’s Kisoko Girls Secondary School. Grow Against Poverty is hopeful that you will continue your support of this program.
Regards,
John Roccanova
