Project Report | Jun 23, 2021
Fundacion Azulado

By Maria Jose Orellana | Project Leader

This year we continue to reinvent our work  to the lock down of Covid in Ecuador , Schools continue closed these months so we have had to do the majority of work online .
Our national radio program on prevention of sexual abuse for children that we did together with the Ministery of Education continues every week , and this is great because many children and  families in rural areas have access to this method of listening to our program.
Also , we are starting to  work with workers in the flower industry this semester , We are going to work with employees of Colour Republic in workshops related to gender equality , and prevention fo domestic violence .
We have done various seminars  online for the community on child abuse prevention and positive discipline . These seminars are done in our web pages and we  have had a lot of viewers on each one .
Azulado worked together with Cooperazione International  and Unicef  in a program of training trainers  on our program Mi Escudo and now they are working in communites in the border with Colombia with our kit Mi Escudo d and reported having great results .
We continue offering psychotherapy in our Foundation to  low income families and there has been and increase in demand in these last months .
We participated in the Keeping Children Safe congress in USA .
We are preparing to begin in September live classes again in schools and already have a list of schools in Quito and outside of Quito  where we will begin our program.
Azulado and Universidad San Francisco de Quito have finished their first 3 month online course in the training of Mi Escudo for psychologists ,teachers , social workers and pediatricians .
We have done two more course on Circle of Security with parents online and  are now offering our third course .
