Give pregnant goat to widow or orphan in Uganda

Project Report | Feb 8, 2023
The gift that keeps on giving

By Michael Hildenbrand | Project Leader

We had planned to travel to Uganda last December but the outbreak of Ebola in Uganda forced us to cancel our plans.  We are now planning to go in May.  There are several teams going to Uganda this year and many of them will get to experience the fun of participating in a "goat giveway".  The funds we raise here through GlobalGiving go to our partner NGO in Uganda who purchases the goats and trains the villagers who will recive the pregnant goats on how to care for them.  It is a widow, orphan or a handicapped person who will receive the goat.  They cannot use the goat for food, they can only sell them or trade them.  This gives them an opportunity to rasie funds for personal care.  It is an amazing program that has changed hundreds of lives over the years.  Thank you for your ongoing support.
