Give pregnant goat to widow or orphan in Uganda

Project Report | Jul 26, 2019
A great Program

By Michael Hildenbrand | Project leader

The gift of a pregnant goat to a widow, orphan, or handicapped person is a life changing gift in rurual Uganda.  The recipient agrees they will not eat the goat!  They can only sell or trade the goat.  If they manage their gift well they can accumualte a herd of 10 to 20 goats in 5 years.  They can trade 7 goats for a milk cow or a bull.  It gives them a source of income.  I have interviewed many women who recived their first goat several years ago and the success stories are inspiring.  This truly is a gift that keeps on givin.
