Give pregnant goat to widow or orphan in Uganda

Project Report | Aug 8, 2018
More goats to be given in January

By Mike Hildenbrand | Project Leader

One of the most impactful and life changing programs we administer in Uganda is the goat distribution project.  In the project funds are raised for the Ugnadan NGO.  They purchase a healthy pregnant goat and give it to a widow or orphan selected by their tribal leader. They agree not to eat the goat, but to only sell or trade them.  This gives them a source of income.  Over a two or three year period they can accumulate a small herd.  They can also trade for a milk cow or a bull.  Many of the widows use the funds to pay for their children's eduacation.  Serve Uganda has helped to give away over 500 goats so far.

We would like to do another distribution in January.
