By Dr Dako Mamudu | Project manager,
Our portable water supply program to our 13,000 villagers is still very much on course!
Even with the severe harsh economic situation in Nigeria, our index population continues to enjoy free water supply.
There is a heavy pressure on the supply chain. As a result of limited power supply, we can only pump water to the reservoir for onward delivery to the people. This is further compounded with the fact the the population of the communities is growing and the inhabitants of the neighboring communities now also rely on our water as the hitherto sources of water supply have become moribund due the inability of the communities to maintain the facilities.
Consequently, our original skakeholders together with their neighbors no ration water an this not good for their health.
The need for an alternative source of power to energize our facility and thus give them more hours of water supply can not be overemphasized.
A 7.5 KVA solar source of power supply is a solution to this challenge. The estimated cost of this facility is $15,000.00 (Fifteen thousands).
