By DR Dako Mamudu | Chief Executive Officer.
On behalf of the more than 30000 rural dwellers that have benefied from this preogamme and the management and staff of Dako Foundation, I thank GlobalGiving and all the donors that have made this project possible.
The current economic difficulty prevailing in Nigeria has negatively impacted on public social services and this has led to the closing down of most public water supply facilities in the neighbhourhood of our index communitries.
Our population however continues to enjoy their portable water supply.
However, the closure of the neigbhouring water facilities have put pressure on our facility. We now have over 60000 villagers relying on our water supply and this sometrimes leads to quarrels and fights at the point of service.
The erractric power supply from the National Grid which seems to be getting worse, is also putting pressure our facility as the average daily supply is less than three hours.
Consequently, the need for alternative power supply to augment the public supply to pumping our water to the people can not be over emphasised!
A 7.0 KVA solar power supply system is urgently needed to solve the above mentioned challenges and the estimated cost of this faciilty is $35,000.00 {Thirty five thousand dollars}.
We look forward to GlobalGiving and our benevolent donors in helping the foundation to source the funds for this facility.
Once more thank you to GlobalGiving and all our donors.
