Campaign for a Portable Ultrasound

Dear generous partners,

We are so grateful that you would sacrifice generously at a time that is there are many worthy causes and needs in your own family and community.

Our goal of $10,000 to cover a portable ultrasound to help doctors better diagnose and treat women and babies at Queen Geraldina University Hospital is not yet close to being met. I shared with the hospital director about this and thankfully, she mentioned that she believes she find another way to provide for this need.  This is good news as the NICU staff put it high on their list of needs again.

I am in touch with another non-profit that helps to provide ultrasound equipment to needy facitlities.  My hope is that we may be able to find suitable equipment, whether it be a portable ultrasound, or even a very valuable probe to put the existing equipment back to work.  I will keep you updated on this effort.

Just last week I visited the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to ask about their current needs and to see how equipment we have donated is being used.  In 2024 we donated 12 patient monitors and in 2023 we donated 11 electric syringes, as well as respiratory equipment.  While, as always, it is such a sad sight to see babies in incubators instead of in the arms of their parents, I was so happy to see a patient monitor in use at each incubator, helping the doctors and nurses to quickly and accurately assess each baby's need.

The top needs that were identified by the medical staff were respiratory equipment, glasses for the babies under the bilirubin lights and hearing equipment.  I will use the funds you have donated, along with other funds to help to cover one or more of these needs.

We love to see the needs being met as our circle of friends widens.  Sometimes it is financial help and other times it is connections.  If there are people you know who you believe could help us on any level, please consider sharing this project with them.  We always like to say "together we can".

We are grateful for you and we wish you and your families a prosperous 2025!
