Welcome to our Fall 2019 update!
We’re so happy to share that our project “Plant Kitchen Gardens for Families in Need in India” has received over 1,000 donations from people around the world! Together, we’re helping to grow nutritious fruit and vegetable gardens for families in need in the remote, underserved state of Jharkhand, India! We are working with villagers to distribute seeds and plants, install wells and irrigation systems, and teach women and families in-need to tend their own gardens and collaborate with others to increase long-term sustainability.
So far in 2019, thanks to your support, we have been able to provide 9310 households with seed packets for their kitchen gardens, and over 4000 fruit trees including mango, guava, lemon, and jackfruit have already been distributed to over 1000 households. Along with seed and plant distribution, our field staff is working with villagers to provide information and guidance while they plant and grow their gardens.
Active support from people around the world is helping us fight malnutrition and ensure long-term sustainability. We urge you to please continue your support so that we can help more families-in-need through this sustainable, empowering program.
Thank you for being a part of this essential project!
