Typhoon Odette (International Name: Rai), entered the Philippines in December 2021 and affected the areas in MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, Region 7, Region 8, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA, and BARMM. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report as of 21 December 2021, noted that there are around 304,837 families (or more than 1,113,373 individuals) affected.
The Mustard Seed Mission cooperates with local partner, PHILRADS, and served families affected in Palawan as one of the targeted provinces. We were able to distribute food packs to 275 families in Barangay 4 Roxas, Palawan who were devastated. They received 25 kilos of rice, 10 cans of sardines, 3 cans of tuna, 5 cans of corned beef, a pack of biscuits, cooking oil,1kg of monggo beans, dried fish, and 5 gallons of drinking water. In Siargao, our local partner has provided Emergency Roofing Assistance to 225 families in San Benito, Siargao Island. Each kit contains a Tarpaulin and Ropes Set.
