Summer is now in full swing and the dry winter landscape at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre has made way for a greener hue. The cubs are still enjoying their new enclosure and especially the shade the trees provide. In the wild, when they are not out hunting, cheetahs spend a large portion of their day at rest. Therefore, seeking cool shelter from the harsh African sun is a welcome relief.
Their food portions have recently been increased to 1,5 kg per feed to accommodate their growing bodies. As previously mentioned, their food is also fortified with a specially developed supplement to aid digestion.
The cubs have also been treated for ticks and fleas, which will go a long way in preventing any disease that can occur as a result of tick bites. The liquid drops are administered along the back of their necks and treatment is done periodically.
Please continue to join their journey and be a part of their eventual release into the wild by checking back here for more updates, and by following our social media platforms.
