Philanthropy for Equitable Justice and Peace

Tewa has been organizing different fundraising events throughout the year. Among them "Hike for Tewa" is one of the fundraising event that was organized on 8^th January 2022.  Hiking is one of the most common and easiest ways to experience nature surrounding us. We prepared for the short hike to raise fund within our network. We gathered in certain location and reached Panchmane, Kathmandu at 9:00 AM. The hiking route is located at Shivapuri National Park. We started our hike around 10:40 AM to Trakeshwor Mahadev which was approximately about 3031 meter in height. We divided our hikers in five groups and every group had a one team leader. It took around 1 hour to reach Tarkeshwor Mahdev temple. We also went for "Kabir Asharam" where we took rest and had some sharing from our grantee partner and volunteer. Along with this, we also had a five minutes meditation for interested people. After that, we came back same route. Every hiker enjoyed it.  It went smoothly and it was a great journey for all of us. We walked almost around 2.4 Kilometers and successfully completed our hike.

The view of trees, bushes, streams and wild flower were pleasing. Hiking brings us close to the beauty of nature. It was a great opportunity to spend some time with ourselves. There were 88 people who donated and helped make our event a success. We accomplished around 6 Kilometers walking the route. All participants actively participated.

We have raised NRs. 175,960.00 (USD 1750.00) from this event. We have crossed our fundraising target. We had targeted to raise 1 lakh (USD 1000.00).  We are thankful to our donors, volunteer's core group, volunteers, partner organizations, Board members, staff and well wishers who helped us to meet our fundraising target. Fund raised events like Hike for Tewa play an important role to support women's organization through grants.
