Dear Director (yes, you),
As a member of our Director's Circle, someone who believed in us when Reel Women Real Change was just an idea typed out on a phone from a sleeping bag on the floor of a hostel in Kathmandu, we are delighted to share two pieces of great news:
First, you may remember hearing about Sajana, one of the RWRC graduates featured in our video and whose project focused on women subjected to acid attacks. Less than one week ago, Sajana's photography was featured in an NPR piece about how a survivor of such an attack helped to change Nepal's criminal code. We are inspired by this important example of smart advocacy and applaud Sajana for her contribution.
Second, our Reel Women Real Change: Stories, Advocacy, Impact project - the one that YOU helped make possible - has been selected as Global Giving's September Project of the Month! We are overjoyed to have been selected from the thousands of projects on the platform for this honor. This means that people from around the world will learn about what we're doing and have an opportunity to support the next RWRC workshop.
Thank you for making this possible.
We wouldn't have had a project - much less a Project of the Month! - without you.
This is news so exciting that you may receive it twice if you also supported the Stories, Advocacy, Impact project. Feel free to share either message and help us spread the word!
With gratitude,
Piper & the team at p.h. balanced films
