Informe de avance OSCASI: aprendizaje + diversion

By Staff | OSCASI

************** ENGLISH VERSION *******************

We begin by thanking you for your support, we have advanced and we continue to consolidate our work in our two schools and nearby communities.

December was a fun month for our students. For the first time, there was a walk from the Nuestra Señora del Carmen School to the Beatriz Castillo School, joining the students and teachers of both schools, being able to share with the community of Petare and sharing allusive messages at Christmas time.
In addition, as a year-end activity we visited the Children's Museum, this being a valuable opportunity for our students, who learned about topics related to Music, Science, Technology, among others, in a very entertaining way; and visited the exhibition: "How to Live in a Drug Free World".

After the Christmas break, we started 2020 with an activity on oral health and the importance of brushing your teeth. The theoretical content of this Workshop was complemented with activities to draw and color, which greatly encouraged our students and motivated them to participate actively.

In January, our most important activity involved all school personnel, who made home-to-house visits to each of our students. With these visits we were able to see first-hand, the environment where our students live and get closer to their families. A chef was also incorporated, who is supporting the kitchens of the two schools, working on cooking techniques and creating new nutritious menus.

In February, we celebrated our 62 anniversary, proud of what we do and with plans to continue improving. Our students began celebrating their Anniversary Week, participating in a Civic Parade towards the Petare Redoma, making our institution and work known to the Petare community. They also carried out sports, recreational and knowledge-defying activities.

It is noteworthy that our students, their families and teaching staff, are being attended and evaluated by doctors from FUNDAENSALUD featured in both schools, as well as psychology interns from the José María Vargas University, who after an evaluation and diagnosis process for each student, have initiated personalized therapies for those students who need to improve their behavior.

On this positive note, we take the opportunity to tell you that we are in full preparation of our main fundraising event, our great Verbena! and our children of OSCASI, under the direction of the super Artetarapia team, have produced wonderful artistic pieces, which we invite you to appreciate live and acquire, on March 22, at the OSCASI Kisoco in La Verbena.
