Dear PEPY friends and community,

Greetings from Cambodia! The PEPY team has had many new and exciting developments these last few months that we are excited to share with you.

First, we would like to introduce the new staff who have joined the team. The organization has finished Dream Management Program's expansion to additional regions in northern Cambodia and now operates in 12 rural high schools reaching over 1,500 grades 10-12 students per year. We hired Seen, a new Dream Officer, to support our growing program. Seen is a 2014 PEPY scholarship recipient who has been a PEPY ambassador and community leader for several years. We are thrilled to have her serve as a role model to our current Dream students and alumni.

We have also onboarded a new Partnerships Manager, Ariel. Ariel comes to PEPY with a business and fundraising background and has led several successful projects in Siem Reap and across Asia for over a decade. He has been a longtime supporter and friend of the PEPY community and the team is grateful to have him come on board.

Scholarship Program Updates

We also have some great news from the Scholarship for Higher Education Program. The team has recently completed its scholarship recruitment process and identified 29 students who are eligible to receive a PEPY scholarship pending the release of their national exam results. So far, we have the resources to support 18-20 scholars but hope to find additional funding soon to provide all of these deserving students the opportunity to continue to higher education.

The current scholars are all doing a fantastic job with their schoolwork, in their careers, and supporting their respective communities. Our employment satisfaction rate continues to be 100% and our intern placement to full-time employment conversion rate has increased this year with several employers reporting that they will be offering our second-year scholars full-time positions. One recent case is Lanh, a 2022 PEPY scholar, who overcame many obstacles by developing her personal and professional skills through our Dream, Scholarship, and Learning Center Programs. She worked hard in our classes and secured an internship as an Accountant at the esteemed Ananthara Angkor Resort Hotel. After serving as an intern for five months she was promoted to a full-time staff member and is entering her second year of Accounting and Taxation at Vanda Institute. She looks forward to one day achieving English fluency and becoming a finance manager.

If you would like to read more scholarship community updates and general news from PEPY, I have attached our quarterly and scholarship reports below.

As a final note, I would like to thank you all for your continued interest in and support of PEPY and our programs. It has been a pleasure sharing our story with you all and I am grateful to be leaving the Partnerships and Development team in the hands of a capable manager and two dedicated officers who hope to connect with you all in the months ahead.

In the meantime, I wish you well and hope to hear from you if you would like to stay in touch or have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

Kathryn, PEPY's former Partnerships and Development Manager
