Dear Supporters,
Thanks to your support another 25 bicycles, helmets, safety vests and tool kits were presented to St. Mathias School bringing the total to 50 for this school. An order has just gone in for another 50 bicycles and sets of accessories for Mary Immaculate Nambale Urban Secondary School. This will make the overall count 175 for Pedal Power for Kenyan Education. These bicycles have helped students get to school and improve their academics.
Students in the Pedal Power program average 2,000 miles traveling to and from school each year. This is over 350,000 miles a year, equal to circling the earth 14 times!
Erina, who missed many days of classes, is now able to attend daily as she has a bicycle for transportation. She said, “I appreciate the bicycles donated to our school. It is a strong motivation to put in extra efforts in my studies to achieve my goal of becoming a teacher.”
Grow Against Poverty’s next fundraising campaign will be the first week of April. Please consider continuing your support at that time.
Many thanks,
Students, Parents and Staff
Busia County, Kenya
