Dear Donors,
On May 1st President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the COVID – 19 lockdown. Schools are allowed to reopen. Students and staff at St. Peter’s Igero Secondary School are excited to be the second school to be part of the "Pedal Power for Kenyan Education” program. Your generous donations will go to the purchase of bicycles, helmets, safety vests, and tool kits to be used by students who walk long distances to and from school.
St. Mary’s Secondary School, the first school in the program, has reissued bicycles to students for the remainder of the school year. A student comments, “Before this bicycle was issued to me, I was a big latecomer to school. When this bike was issued to me, I improved both my reporting time to school and my class performance.”
The Buffalo Bicycles that are purchased are designed and built for rough dirt roads. Further improvements have been made (check the attachment) to make riding easier and safer and to keep these bikes on the road longer. We will keep you posted on the progress of the program.
Thanks for your continued support.
Regards,
John Roccanova
