The goal of supporting St. Mary’s School in Nambale with 50 Buffalo Bicycles and accessories has been reached, and surpassed! By the end of the week, 53 students will have bicycles to use during the school year to help reduce the time of their 5-6 mile commutes to and from school. The time saved is used for studying, working on family farms, and caring for siblings. An added bonus is that the girls feel safer riding to school.
News of this success has spread throughout Nambale sub-county. Students improved their attendance, promptness, and academic performances. Four other area schools are requesting funding to offer similar programs. We would like to provide Buffalo Bicycles, helmets, safety vests, and tool kits to each of the schools one at a time.
We hope that you support this program during GlobalGiving’s Little x Little campaign in March. More details will be forthcoming.
