By Leigh E Carter | Friend of APF
Dear Friends of Fondwa:
The situation in Haiti remains very difficult. Political instability, wide-spread insecurity, and rampant inflation are sadly the norm. But, people in rural Haiti continue to carry on -- not only with their lives, but with the work of providing basic services to their neighbors. That is what the APF clinic continues to do. Here is the quarterly update:
Due to health challenges, Dr. Farda had to take a leave of absence in August, which continues into September. But, the clinic staff - who continue work in her absence - report that from June to August 2022, the clinic saw:
They see residents of the region who suffer from everything from motorcycle accidents to high blood pressure and diabetes. They care for pregnant women and their children. And, they carry out education on public health.
Your support of our work makes all the difference for the people of the Fondwa community, who have very little access to the much-needed healthcare they need.
With gratitude,
Leigh Carter (friend of APF and Fondwa) and the APF clinic staff.
