The Tag Rugby Values programme in Israel has been widely embraced by schools, with twenty-six participating throughout the country. There are regular regional tournaments, encouraging children from all different backgrounds to play, win and lose together.
There are plans in place for eight joint tag rugby sessions in the regions of Haifa and Tel-Aviv across both Jewish and Arab schools. This programme may also be expanding to Jerusalem.
The Tag Rugby Programme reaches over one thousand children ever year, with pupils receiving a session every week at school.
The Continual Professional Development for PE Teachers initiative is going well, with rugby firmly within the national PE curriculum. There are now three tag rugby INSET days in the regions of Haifa, Centre and Jerusalem. There are plans for more INSET days across all six regions of Israel, exposing the game to even more pupils in the next three to five years.
Atlas are proud to be supporting our partners in encouraging co-existence through rugby, building friendship and mutual understanding through the game.
