The coronavirus has meant that carrying out the Peace and Reconciliation through Rugby project in Israel has been very hard over the past few months. As Israel's lockdown has continued, schools have remained closed and training has remained forbidden. Nonethless, the project has been acting in other ways to maintain the physical, social and emotional conditions that improve the lives of our children. This has included staying in touch with kids and having regular online fitness workouts on Zoom. There are coming plans to give fitness plans to all children, zoom seminars for all players, coaches and referees, and instructor and coaching courses to those that would like them.
On another positive note, after 2 years of hard work the project recently been approved in the Israeli school system by the Ministry of Education. This has also come with plans for a detailed external program for schools to implement and accredited seminars for physical education teachers.
