Calcutta Rescue's CEO, Mr. Jaydeep Chakraborty, celebrated his 50th birthday in a remarkable way by participating in the Paris Marathon 2023 alongside Xavier Houot, a dedicated supporter of Calcutta Rescue. The event took place on April 2nd, 2023, and aimed to raise funds for the holistic development of slum dwellers, while also creating more opportunities for them to engage in music and sports.
The motivation for Mr. Chakraborty to participate in this marathon came from Xavier's inspiring completion of a full Ironman race last year. This encouraged him to embrace this significant milestone in his life by taking on the challenge. Despite facing cold and windy conditions, the atmosphere was truly electric. Mr. Chakraborty encountered some difficulties in the final 12 kilometers, but he persevered, driven by the thought of Calcutta Rescue's students and beneficiaries, ultimately crossing the finish line.
The marathon concluded on a triumphant note, with the campaign proving to be a resounding success. The funds raised through this event will be instrumental in providing healthcare, education, and improved living standards for the beneficiaries of Calcutta Rescue.
