Current Situation: Why Your Support Matters
As Sudan’s war nears its third year, millions face displacement, malnutrition, and extreme hardship. Among those most affected are women and girls, who struggle with limited access to basic hygiene products like sanitary pads and underwear. For many, these necessities have become unaffordable due to high inflation and a collapse in humanitarian aid, leaving them without safe options to manage their menstrual health.
The recent suspension of foreign aid has further restricted vital protection programs for women and girls. This has made grassroots efforts, like our campaign, more crucial than ever.
Your Impact: What We Achieved Together
Thanks to your donations, SIHA partnered with the Feminist Room in Gedaref City to distribute sanitary pads and provide menstrual health support to displaced women and girls.
Women in the camp shared how access to sanitary pads provided relief, dignity, and confidence. Many had been forced to resort to unsafe alternatives due to the unaffordability of hygiene products. Your support helped change that.
The Urgent Need for Continued Support
The demand for menstrual hygiene products remains urgent, especially as SIHA Network aims to expand support to other crisis areas, including South Kordofan and Darfur. With ongoing conflict and displacement, countless women and girls still lack access to the most basic hygiene supplies.
