Open Doors to Change Feb 2020 Report

By Kristen Conboy | Development Associate

In 2019 we served a total of 163 residents, as well as 30 children.  The number of residents remaining stably housed, either with us or in the community, at the end of 2019 was 137, or 84%.  The number of residents that enhanced their social or financial stability was 86, or 52.8%. The number of residents achieving goals on their ISPs was 100, or 60%. In 2019 there were a total of 229 Case Management sessions between residents and their Case Managers.

Because of supporters like you we are able to offer housing and well-rounded services to all of our residents, increasing their chances of remaining stably housed.  For Christine losing her husband to a severe illness put her and her sons out on the streets. She was able to find housing for her sons, but she began bouncing from relative to relative until her only option was to live in her storage unit. Thankfully Christine found WHC. Here she learned how to budget her money and use her case manager as a mentor in responsibility. She found value. With your help, women like Christine can get back on their feet and find value.

"To me WHC has been the greatest experience of my life... it helped me plant my feet and it gave me stability.  I've grown a lot, and I've learned a lot." - Christine

In 2020 we are celebrating 40 years of service in Baltimore City.  We could not have done it without your continued support and we are immensely grateful.

If you would like to buy a ticket or make a donation in support of our Annual Event where we will be commemorating our 40 years of service, please visit Eventbrite.
