Milestones & More!

By Mischa Freeman | Program and Operations Director

Dear supporter,

Thanks to your support, we've reached a milestone, training 8,000 mental health and healing advocates in 28 countries around the world since we started our journey 10 years ago. Healing communities now thrive in Nepal, Uganda, Rwanda, across the US, and in Europe and the Middle East, where our Emotional First Aid tools support folks impacted by conflict and violence.

It takes a global community to
transform hurt into hope. So, we send our deepest gratitude to our global team of trainers and facilitators, our family of healing advocates and the 100,000+ survivors they support—and the impassioned donors and advocates like you who are investing in a future that belongs to all of us

Spotlight: Uganda

Healing Together Uganda Country Director, Brendah Aryatugumya continues apace with mental health trainings for educators, just recently completing two 3-day trauma-informed care workshops for 93 teachers during their winter break.

Check out this short clip of the teachers "resourcing" from toxic stress through music and play.

Spotlight: Nepal

Last month, our Healing Together Nepal Country Director, Suresh Chhetry, made a passionate plea to world leaders to center the voices of sexual abuse survivors to lead local and global prevention, healing, and justice initiatives at the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict conference in London.

Check out his powerful speech here (at 26 min and at 1 hour 5 min).
As co-founder of the global Brave Movement of childhood sexual violence survivors, Suresh also helped to get November 18th declared by the United Nations as the World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. We truly are Healing Together. And we're just getting started.
