Rise Up: Global Impact, Local Youth-led Solutions

Creating real change takes effort and commitment. Thanks to supporters like you and our community of young changemakers who remain hopeful about creating lasting change, 2021 was a wonderful and exciting year! 

“It brought us the opportunity to collaborate with many organizations to promote youth’s participation and highlight their amazing work. As the second year of the pandemic continued to affect the way we work and interact with each other, we worked hard to increase our online engagement with the youth we worked with and for.” Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors in 2021, we supported 32% more projects, which had an extensive reach of +5 million people globally.

This year, we will continue to work in our mission to support youth to create positive change towards more inclusive, fair, and sustainable communities. Here is what we have been working on in the last couple of months: 

1. We officially started the seventh cycle of the Mentorship Program. This time, we are welcoming a cohort of 20 unique, brilliant and exceptional changemakers along with 18 mentors for a 12-week mentoring journey. This cohort brings together 23 different nationalities, and for the first time, we have participants from Serbia, Algeria, Mauritius, and the Netherlands. We will be guiding our mentees on using data science to go from education to employment, bringing visibility to people with disabilities, conserving endangered species, increasing awareness about sexual harassment and mental health, among others. These young students are ready to use our program to explore, learn and take their journey and activism to the next level.
2. Preparations for the First Virtual Youth Summit in Latin America have kicked off, and we will soon release information on how to join.
3. Our community of students at the Online School keeps on growing. There are now 2,899 students from over 80 countries enrolled, a 28% increase from December 2021.
4. We are working with young climate activists to launch a new course, "Ecology for Changemakers", at the Changemakers School. Its goal is to teach young people worldwide how to apply an ecological perspective to their lifestyle and activism. We are currently looking for sponsors who could help us reach this goal. This year is filled with optimism fueled by watching our community of changemakers benefit their communities. We trust there are a lot of supporters like you who will keep on driving our mission and actions further, and we can’t wait to share the impact these projects will bring to the communities they serve.
