Dear supporter,
We have a little update on our crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to purchase an electric four-wheeler for the babies’ needs.
Last December, a family came forward to support us purchase an electric vehicle and their teenage son ran a crowdfunding camoaign and raised sum money but not as much as they expected. After waiting for some time, family felt that they wouldn’t be able to raise all of the money needed to purchase an electric vehicle. Hence, they came forward to purchase an internal combustion vehicle with their personal resources.
In March of 2024, they came to Vellore and paid partly (we paid the part that you each of you have donated through GlobalGiving) to help us purchase Maruti Eeco which can be used not only for the babies needs to go to the hospital but also for the older children to go to school and back.
This family also gave us permission to trade in for an electric vehicle as and when our crowdfunding campaign reaches the target to buy one. We are excited with this new development as it helps us to take the babies in a safer vehicle but enables us to work harder to raise the remaining money to purchase an electric vehicle.
If you’re wondering about our desire to purchase an electric vehicle, it was twofold: First one being to take our babies to the hospital and back in a safe vehicle and the second one being to reduce the cost of maintaining such a vehicle as we have 11Kw solar power plant to charge the vehicle. Also, we understand that the repair history of electric vehicles is low as there are fewer number of moving parts in an electric vehicle compared to the combustion vehicle.
We want to thank you for supporting for this need but it is also our hope that you will inspire others to come forward to fill the remaining need to enable us to purchase an electric vehicle.
God bless
