1. This project is to be able to purchase a 4-wheeler that will help the babies in the adoption agency, the children of the children's home, and all the staff get to school and hospital visits they may need, safely and on time. 2. The babies at the adoption agency are all special needs babies that require constant care, and the 4-wheeler will enable the organization in need to get the babies to the hospital safely and on time, especially when there's a medical emergency.
Currently we have 12 adoption eligible babies with special needs (our actual approved capacity is 14) and we almost go to the hospital every day and we do not have our own transport vehicle. We are forced to use an available commercial three-wheel vehicle which is unsafe (because of its balance and open windows) and expensive to use on a daily basis.
We are thinking of purchasing an electric vehicle (we have a solar power plant to source free electricity) and requiring all our staff to be able to drive this vehicle so that the fuel costs and the costs associated with the driver are reduced or eliminated.
This vehicle will enable us to transport children safely at a bare minimum cost (due to no fuel and driver costs involved) to and from the hospital. These savings can be allocated for other uses of these babies such as purchasing milk powder and diapers.
