Safeguarding Ol Pejeta's Rhino Populations

As we continue to navigate the complex challenges posed by climate change, the persistent threat of poaching, and increasing competition for natural resources, your support empowers our dedicated teams as they work tirelessly, 24/7, monitoring wildlife, engaging with local communities, and conducting crucial ranger patrols to safeguard our incredible wildlife.

Thanks to your unwavering support, we have achieved significant milestones in our rhino conservation efforts:

• Sustained Rhino Population Growth: As of March, our rhino population has grown to over 230 individuals.
• We were particularly encouraged by the birth of 5 new rhino calves in March contributing to a positive 2 percent increase in the rhino population for the month.
• Positive Trends in Wildlife Numbers: Our January 2025 aerial census revealed a positive trend within Ol Pejeta, with counting over 8500 individuals - with significant increases in key species such as Thomson's gazelle, plains zebra, buffalo, and elephants.
• Enhanced Anti-Poaching Capabilities: Your contributions have been instrumental in strengthening our anti-poaching measures. The recent intensive certification of our K9 unit, with seven dogs and twelve handlers successfully certified, significantly enhances our ability to detect and deter poaching threats.
