What A Difference a Few Months Made!

By Eric Welle & Josephine Court, | Project Leaders

OIUSA/Canada Medical Mission Team
OIUSA/Canada Medical Mission Team

As you all know, we recently completed a successful full 5-day FREE Medical and Surgical Mision in Isiokpo, Rivers State, Nigeria, in partnership with O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation, in the middle of COVID-19 pandemics.  It would not have been possible without the support of our growing GlobalGiving family of donors.  We are happy to report that all the medical and non-medical personnel from the US and Canada who teamed up for this mission returned safely and are healthy.

Months following the conclusion of the 5-days Medical Mission, our Medical team in Nigeria continued to follow up on those who received surgeries at no additional cost to them.

At the beginning of May 2021, six of the patients approved for eye surgeries, but could not be operated on during the five days, were recalled to a private clinic to have their eye surgeries at no cost to them.

For the next several months, our team will continue to follow up on the patients and report to OIUSA/Canada accordingly.  Our next Full Medical and Surgical Mission is scheduled to take place in 2022/2023.

We want to thank all our donors for their outstanding and continuous support to provide FREE health care to Ikwerre underprivileged and farming communities. We are requesting all our donors to start monthly recurring donations by clicking the following link;
