Disaster Aid USA (DAUSA) Ohio Spring Tornado deployment update – March 20th through March 30th Many Disaster Aid USA Ohio DART team members deployed, led by Team Leader Dave Roasa and included Jim Gillespie, Andrea Russell-Mann, Jan Roasa, John McMasters, Randy Lombardi, Jim Flaherty, Jeff Stenerson (and his wife Tammy), and Jami Elsworth participated in disaster relief efforts around Delaware Oh. The team worked closely with Sunbury-Galena Rotary club member Mary Howard who broadcasted and coordinated many day volunteers to assist with clearing tree debris. Volunteer waiver and release forms were collected from each person and are on file. We also got day volunteer assistance from Delaware Rotary. Work load completed to date: 3/20 – Started working with Delaware county EMA office; obtained partial damaged property list was obtained from Delaware County EMA group – started scouting homes to validate, match our work capability and obtained std FEEMA right to enter from selected homeowners. 6 volunteer hours 3/21 – obtained additional list of damages property; continued scouting and obtaining FEMA right to enter form on selected home for planned weekend work. 1. Being that all properties needing help was on paper - DAUSA18 volunteer hours 3-22 – started deployment with team of 5 in a.m./10 in p.m.pm from Delaware Rotary and Delaware Foundation. 1. 1860 – Somerford Dr – cutup & removed trees; pulled all debris to curb, and clean up yard. 15 volunteer hours; 3 med/tall trees 2. 2480 Berlin Station- several trees cut up but piled in yard; pulled branches/trunk to roadway. Note: there was already a large pile of branches in front yard – attempted to pull to roadway but branches so inter-tangled team felt time was better spent moving on. 20 volunteer hours; pull about 3 trees to roadway 3. 2453 Berlin Station – Crisis Cleanup indicated 20 but much closer to 30 (most lg trees) down up to 100yds + back from road. Started cutup & removal of trees – will rtn 3/23. 30 volunteer hours 3-23 –Worked with a team of 9 all day; one half day; 63 volunteer hours; about 10 lg/tall trees 1. 2453 Berlin Station – continue cutup & removal of about 10 lg/xl trees removal from yard up to 100yds + back from road. Filled roadway – will rtn later; still 10/15 lg trees remaining. 3-24 – Worked with a team of 11 all day - 88 volunteer hours 1. 414 N Walnut St – about 10 lg/xl/tall trees started cutup and removal to trees from yard some 100yds from roadway. 3-25 – Worked with a team of 7 all day – 2 half day 1. 414 N Walnut St – continued cutup and removal of trees from yard some 100yds from roadway. 42 volunteer hours 3-25 – Rain-day 3-27 – Worked with a team of 7 all day – 2 partial day; 46 volunteer hours 1. 414 N Walnut St – Completed cutup and removal of trees from yard some 100yds from roadway. Over last 3 days removed about 10 lg/xl/tall trees – two xl tree trunks remain to be cleared for milling 2. Scout and obtain right of entry forms for additional work - 3 volunteer hours 3-28 – Worked with a team of 8 all day – 3 partial day 1. 530 N Walnut St – Completed cutup and removal of 2 med trees from yard some 300yds+ from roadway. 27 volunteer hours 2. 360 Quin St – Completed cutup and removal of 2 med trees from yard some 50yrd from roadway. 10 volunteer hours 3. 195 N Walnut – Completed tree limb removal from yard up to 100yrds back; 8 volunteer hours 4. 143 N Walnut - Completed tree limb removal and light chainsaw from yard up to 50yrds back; 8 volunteer hours 3-29 –Worked with a team of 6 all day; one partial day volunteer; 63 volunteer hours; about 6 lg/tall trees 1. 2453 Berlin Station – continue cutup & removal of about 6 lg/xl trees removal from yard up to 100yds + back from road. About 8 remaining trees – looking to possibly finish 4/13, 4/14 4-13 Worked with a team of 7; one partial day volunteer; 45 volunteer hours; about 5 lg/tall trees 1. 2453 Berlin Station – continue cutup & removal of about 4 lg/xl trees removal from yard up to 100yds + back from road. About 3 remaining trees 4/14 Worked with team of 4 one partial day volunteer; 31 volunteer hours; 1. 2453 Berlin Station – Completed cutup & removal of about 3 lg/xl trees removal from yard up to 100yds + back from road. Any remaining cleanup homeowner will complete. Total volunteer work hours as of 4/14/24 – 512 hours
