During this quarter we have been part of the Citizen/Community Observatory of Water and Environment of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, from which we have dialogued with the state and local government, in addition to generating a website as an instrument for the denunciation and proposals of the citizenry on water problems. From the Observatory we supported the creation and presented the magazine "Voces Comunitarias del Agua" (Community Voices of Water) together with various civil organizations.
We also started a training process with several families for a better use, management and reuse of water, which will conclude with the construction of biofilters for the treatment of gray and soapy water.
The use of biofilters makes it possible to reuse water and reduce its consumption; we are currently working with 12 families.
The reuse of water will allow the families to have more water for the cultivation of their plants and fruit trees.
We are very happy to work with these families and we thank all the people who have supported us, because it will allow us to better face the drought that is expected in the coming months!
