Jolly is an amazing woman! At the age of 70, Jolly is raising four grandchildren, Hillary 16 years, Benson 14 years, Amos 14 years and Samuel 12 years. She took the children in when their father, Jolly’s son, died. It’s been hard raising four kids without an income and very few resources. Luckily for Jolly, she has YOU in her life! Your support has helped Jolly provide for her family.
Jolly always dreamed about starting a goat rearing business at her home, but she never had the money to make it happen. Jolly received a microfinance loan from the Nyaka Grandmother Group that she belongs to and was finally able to buy her first goat. She also used the loan to buy supplies to build a simple shelter for it. The goat has even produced two kids which Jolly said, “has made my dream very fulfilled and I’m a very happy grandmother.” She’s also happy that the goat manure can be used as fertilizer to improve the garden at her home, a garden that her and her grandchildren rely on for food.
YOUR love and support has made it possible for Jolly to live her dream of goat rearing and being able to provide for her four grandchildren. Thank you!
On November 28th #GivingTuesday, don’t forget to make a donation to help provide microfinance loans for more grandmothers just like Jolly.
