Bola Pra Frente was founded by four-time world soccer champion Jorginho and since 2000 uses sport as a tool for social development in socially vulnerable communities in the neighborhoods of Guadalupe and Deodoro in the Northern Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The Institute serves children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17, regularly enrolled in the public school system.
For Ball Forward, sport is a tool that facilitates and promotes learning and, at the same time, teaches important values for the formation of conscious, efficient and responsible citizens capable of being protagonists of their own development. In this sense, we specialize in transforming the simple sports practice not only into entertainment, fun, well-being and quality of life, but above all in human development and social transformation.
The Nutrition Support project has been very important for the development of the activities offered in the Bola Pra Frente. In addition to the pedagogical, sports and cultural activities developed in the project, the theme of healthy eating is constantly being worked on with the students.
Culinary workshops and educational health actions have resulted in a change in students' behavior and eating habits, reinforcing the need for re-education of foods with balanced and low-cost meals.
In the menu, in addition to the daily supply of fruits, we present healthy alternatives to traditional children's snacks, such as sandwiches, juices and cakes, which have been well accepted, which is fundamental in a food re-education process - proving the new is healthy.
In this semester, we had a cooking workshop, as well as lectures and actions during the health week, which made possible a differentiated and stimulating learning for students.
"The snack is good, because many children who come to the Institute do not have a balanced diet at home, they often do not have what to eat, snacking has to be something light because we practice physical activity.
The fruits in the snack are good because, in addition to nurturing the students, it is very healthy. "
