About the organization:
Instituto Bola Pra Frente is a Civil Society Organization and was founded on June 29, 2000 by four-time world soccer champion Jorginho. The institution has been operating for 20 years in socially vulnerable communities in the neighborhoods of Guadalupe, Deodoro and Marechal Hermes, in the North and West Zones of Rio de Janeiro.
The Institute promotes the comprehensive education of children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 17, regularly enrolled in the public school system and who live in Complexo do Muquiço.
Using an innovative educational methodology, with the main objective of developing skills and abilities for integral development for life, the Institute operates through socio-educational activities, using sport and culture as driving tools for social promotion.
Acting in partnership with schools in the region, the Institute seeks to ensure that the actions developed generate real and positive impacts on the individual development of each student. For this reason, the institution maintains a close relationship with the families and communities where it operates, ensuring transparency in actions and enhancing results. In this way, the Institute seeks to impact all areas in which the student is inserted: the family, the school and the community. The expected result is to generate a positive impact, in order to promote social protagonism and behavior change and, as a consequence, improve the future of the target audience and the region where they are inserted.
About the project:
The project uses a pedagogical methodology called Perfect Crossing, which proposes to share and disseminate knowledge from one area to another in a perfect way, considering sport, education and culture, which results in a harmonious move where the educator is also the player, complementing each other in favor of the integral development of the student.
The main objective of the project is to develop, together with the beneficiary public, a set of knowledge and skills necessary for their citizenship and full aptitude for the job market and the university.
Thus, the Institute aims to broaden the worldview of these students, promoting inclusion and social promotion, in order to combat the situation of inequality observed in Brazil, but with a focus on Complexo do Muquiço, a region in which the Institute is fully committed and engaged for 22 years.
About the target audience:
The Bola Pra Frente Institute serves, through the project, children and adolescents between 06 and 17 years old, students from the public school system and residents of the eight communities that make up Complexo do Muquiço. Students are divided into age groups, with the aim of facilitating learning and providing opportunities to review the topics studied at different levels of depth. In addition, the application of different approaches and modes of representation is sought, from different cycles.
This method of grouping age groups was studied by the Institute's multidisciplinary team, with the aim of understanding exactly what each of these cycles needs for their full cognitive and motor development, in order to instruct them to make better use of the proposals and contents addressed. In addition to creating proximity to the concepts adopted by the school, generating greater understanding of the peculiarities of the cycles.
Pandemic in 2020:
Given the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, Instituto Bola Pra Frente was unable to provide face-to-face assistance to children and adolescents enrolled in the Perfect Crossing Program in order to respect the safety of participants and virus prevention measures. However, some activities were carried out in order to maintain a close relationship between the Institute and the beneficiary public and to continue impacting the various areas where the student is inserted.
In this way, we promote interaction on our social networks, developing sports and educational activities with the beneficiary public, where they could participate remotely and keep in touch with educators. In addition, another outstanding action was the attendance of participants through telephone calls and access to the Institute's social networks, which enabled closer relations between the institution and the beneficiary public during this moment of distancing.
Seeking to ensure the food and hygiene safety of project participants, that is, children, adolescents and their families, Instituto Bola Pra Frente started the project Em Campo Contra a COVID-19, with the objective of creating and developing a network of solidarity capable of carrying out actions to prevent contagion and mitigate the impacts caused by the pandemic. The purpose is to efficiently encourage new forms of coexistence and collaboration for the development of the territory and for the food security of families registered in the organization, establishing, for this purpose, partnerships with local businesses. In this way, families received assistance through purchase vouchers in local markets, with the purchase of gel alcohol, which provides not only food security for the family, but also local development.
Main activities:
• Educational activities on social networks, with storytelling, sports challenges, riddles, film tips and videos on hygiene during the pandemic;
• Distribution of Easter eggs to students;
• Gathering information about the educational process of students during the pandemic, through calls and filling out a questionnaire;
• Creation and interaction in Whatsapp groups according to each age group among educators, students and guardians;
• Reception of some students scheduled by appointment to talk about the atypical year, the coming months and the delivery of a gift.
