Education sponsorship- The beginning of the story

Access to education in Uganda is limited with low student enrollment in schools and high dropout rates. This is because parents and guardians cannot pay school fees or finance other necessary scholastic materials. It is unacceptable that so many children continue to live under miserable circumstances, unable to work towards a promising future. Children are getting less preparation to live a fulfilling life due to lack of education, a problem that has particularly profound effects among communities already suffering from poverty and the HIV/AIDS and now COVID 19 pandemic.

The story of Denis

Denis is our first beneficiary of the education sponsorship program, He was a total orphan after losing all his family to HIV/AIDS,  the late father to the founder of Cosma picked Denis at the age of 10 years and accommodated him at his house and then took him back to school. When the late father passed on in 2003, Charles the founder of Cosma took over education sponsorship for Denis and expanded the program to more vulnerable children. Since then Denis topped his class till his graduation as clinical officer and now practicing clinical medicine at his own clinic. Denis’s Vision is to run a major hospital and offer subsidized medical services to orphans and vulnerable population of Uganda.

Call for help

Cosma works with village leadership committees to identify one child to sponsor from most vulnerable household but also enrolls the guardians/parents into commercial production or vocation skilling.  Cosma calls upon well-wishers and partners from around the world to support this program through these packages below to make sure all our current beneficiaries keep in school despite the challenges caused by the COVID 19 Pandemic.

 Sponsorship patterns
