The National Partnership for Environment-Agriculture and Sustainable Development "NPEASD" is a program created by WNVD to activate a multi-actors plateform that work together to adapt organic, circular and transferable sustainable economy practices in DRC. By this 1st step, we intend to help improving economic growth for 4 Community Farmers' Organizations in Nyiragongo, Rutshuru, Idjwi and Kabare territories, by facilitating them access fund opportunitie, technical services and fair markets.
DRC farming communities face general challenges, such as the need for income diversification to ensure the profitability of practices as well as the possibility of access information, financial and technical innovations for a sustainable rural life that benefits everyone. Unfortunately, the persistence of poor governance in matter of cooperation to community' growth plans still leading to increased hunger, unemployment, poverty and unsafe life conditions against distressed communities in DRC.
To solve the problem, WNVD has set out a supportive plan for community sustainability, activating at the same time various opportunities that conciliate social & economic needs as well as safe and resilient environmental for all. To this regard, the NPEASD consolidates actors in a coordinated, contributive & profitable teamwork, acting in diversity to address poverty, food crisis and underdevelopment. This first step of NPEASD Fund will help improving economic lives for 80 direct members of the 4 Farmers organizations. We'll empower beneficiairies at every stage, lead them in the application of responsible and lasting practices, including important topics related to circular economy system, agriculture value chains...for a maximum large-scale impact. In addition, working with government leaders to influence social protection strategies and their continous support to enlarge this program.
