The project has been developing in its phase of harvest, consumption, replanting. This has been done without major inconvenience.
However, with the beginning of the public health situation presented by Covid-19, the community decided to close its borders and not receive people from outside the community or who were in other towns. For this reason, the last 6 weeks the communication with the community leader and the development of community work has been infrequent due to the lack of cell phone signal.
In Soydoy we have been attentive to know the development of the situation with the indigenous people and in this way be able to intervene in the appropriate way, giving direct support in what this economic, food security and social crisis that we are experiencing, causes in them.
The planted orchards are now the main source of food for the beneficiary families. Thank you for supporting our project and adding to the solution of the food security problem in the Aruhaca community of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
