Shree Barpak Nirman Mahila Samuha was established in the year 2066 with a motive to uplift the existing condition of women of Barpak, promote clean drinking water in the community, aware on clean and hygienic toilet and motivate for individual cleanliness program. Organization was established not only with a sole motive but for overall awareness on social, environmental, individual and moral status of Barpak region. Some other objectives include:
- Reduction in the consumption of alcoholic beverages and social issues.
- Save forest of Barpak region.
- For social development support in education, health and cleanliness aspect of the region.
- In coordination with public and private authorities, create space for skill enhancement programs for community development.
- Support to uplift the living condition of marginalized community.
- Promote and protect local culture and art.
Before mentorship program, executive committee members including general members did not know about regular organizational activities such as audit, renewable, etc. They were unaware about the concept of regular monthly meeting, leadership transformation, AGM, etc. Organization was not renewed for almost 5 years. There was no proper documentation and reporting. Though, organization had a policy, none were aware about it. They were not clear about their duties, roles and responsibilities. None of them had received trainings regarding organization functioning/management.
After introducing mentorship program, in the organization, they have started to do regular audit, AGM, and leadership transformation as per organizational policy. They have started to keep proper meeting minute. Also, have been more focused on their documentation part. They have now started to keep proper written documentation of savings and credit related information including preparing voucher and ledger. Members of the mentee organization have gone through organizational policy and accordingly have divided duties and responsibilities among members. For smooth functioning of the organization, they have received various trainings such as account management training, leadership development training, report and proposal writing training, etc. Mentee organization has started to conduct local festivals in coordination with local authority. They are now able to conduct programs/activities on their own. They can write simple proposal and reports themselves.
